LATEST NEWS: Winter 2019/20

These last few months have been rather busy combining teaching, researching and drawing, and I consider myself lucky that my design interests in all three feed each other!

In September I presented my research about Gwen White at the House of Illustration, London at the Women in Print symposium. White was a fabulous British illustrator who has been largely forgotten but it was wonderful to introduce her work to a new audience, and go some way to celebrate her achievements. I hope to formalise the research in the future.

Pattern design has been occupying much of my working life as I teach and write on the subject. I love the fact that teaching design makes me unpick my own understanding of the process, putting it back together for the students to question in relation to their practice.
With all the talk of pattern I'm very excited to be working on a very exciting new series of drawings …
